The Art of Joint Rolling
For many people, smoking from a joint is the preferred way to consume marijuana. While pipes/bowls/pieces are simpler to load and use, joints allow for a more consistent and even smoking experience. However, joint rolling is not as simple as it may seem; it is an acquired skill that takes some practice. Follow these steps to start your joint rolling journey, and remember: practice makes better.
What you’ll need:
Quality rolling papers - we recommend Raw or Juicy Jays.
Filter tips
A clean grinder - dirty grinders tend to get sticky and make it more difficult to grind your weed properly
A lighter
Flower - of course
Step 1) Grind it: be sure to remove any stems before loading the grinder, and don’t overload. You’ll want your resulting bud to be crumbly.
Step 2) Filter it: the filter is the foundation of your joint’s size. Be sure it is tightly rolled.
Step 3) Fill it: lay the paper on a flat, even surface, and place the filter in the center at one end. Sprinkle the ground weed along the crease. It’s better to under-fill than over-fill, especially on your first few attempts.
Step 4) Roll it: pick up the paper by either end and fold it in half so the weed is cradled in the paper. Use your thumb and forefinger to move the paper back and forth. Think of making the cash-money symbol that is made by rubbing your thumb and first two fingers together. Then tuck one side of the paper around the weed log that has been created and continue rolling.
Step 5) Twist it: lick the end of the paper like an envelope and seal. Then twist the end to be lighted. Don’t twist too hard or you will rip the paper.
Ta da!
