CBD vs. THC

We know that the two major ingredients in the marijuana plant are THC and CBD. And surprisingly while extremely different, the two can elicit similar effects. Many people today use THC, CBD, or both to aid with sleep, anxiety, depression, PTSD (along with a slew of other mental health issues), and pain. But it seems the people who use CBD are not necessarily the same ones using THC. In fact, many CBD users are very opposed to THC use due to its mind-altering effects.

CBD stands for cannabidiol and is derived from a cousin of the marijuana plant, the hemp plant. CBD does not give off any hallucinogen effects, or alter your state of sobriety. THC (or Tetrahydrocannabinol) on the other hand interacts with the brain differently altering one's state of sobriety and even potentially causing mild hallucinations. If you aren’t prepared for it, your first few times using THC can even be scary. To help decide whether THC or CBD is the better choice for you, you can read up more about the side effects each may cause, as well as the laws in your state.
